What Causes Pain on the Left Side of Stomach
You are experiencing pain on the left side of your stomach. What causes this? There are several things that could cause this.
One possibility is a bowel obstruction. If the pain is accompanied by loose or no stools and vomiting, you should get to the ER immediately because this is a severe condition.
Another is diverticulitis, in which a pouch forms in a weak spot in the colon. This usually isn’t a life threatening condition but you should still see your doctor for this.
Finally, it could be viral hepatitis. This is a very dangerous condition where a virus affects the liver. Symptoms include yellowing of the eyes and dark urine. You should see a doctor immediately.
