Your stomach is designed to handle stomach acid, but your esophagus is not. When stomach acid enters your esophagus it causes a lot of pain and inflammation, which is felt in your chest.
What can make GERD worse?
GERD can be aggravated by any action that puts stress on the stomach like: bending over, heavy lifting, lying down, eating a large meal.
How to reduce GERD Chest Pain?
Drink small amounts of chilled mineral water every few hours. Follow a diet that is low in acidic fruits and vegetables like: grapefruit, tomatoes, lemon. Avoid fatty cuts of meat like: ground beef and bacon.
